Angela has a wide range of life experience and good communication skills based on successful, lengthy former careers in education and business, as well as running her own generalist suburban law practice for the four years immediately preceding signing the Victorian Bar Roll in November 2002.  Before opening her own sole practice at the beginning of 1999, Angela did her articles with a Property Law Specialist and worked in a generalist legal practice in the areas of Family and De Facto Law, Property, Commercial, Criminal, Wills Probate and Administration and some employment and personal injury matters. Angela has retained an associate membership of the Law Institute of Victoria and is a member of the Family Law, Children’s Court, Criminal Law  sections of the Victorian Bar; the Women Barristers' Association and the Family Law Section of the Law Council of Australia. She has also been associated with community legal groups and the Victorian Bar pro-bono legal assistance scheme. Since commencing at the Victorian Bar at the end of 2002, Angela has been briefed in most of the above listed areas, but the bulk of her practice has been in Family Law and its related areas of Domestic Partners (De Facto Property), Crimes Family Violence and Children’s Court and in Commercial and Property Matters.

Angela’s mediation and negotiation skills have enabled many matters to be settled prior to trial to the satisfaction of the parties involved.  This is particularly beneficial in matters involving relationship breakdown, as it means that, especially when children are involved, families can continue to function with minimal acrimony.  Where necessary, Angela advocates and questions vigorously in the interests of clients whilst retaining the clear thinking and independence of her role as counsel.  Angela is an accredited Mediator in a variety of areas of Law.
