Profile

Since coming to the bar, Alex has developed a strong indictable crime practice and regularly appears for the defence in:

  • Trials and Pleas in the Supreme Court
  • Trials, Pleas and Appeals in the County Court
  • Mental Impairment/Fitness to be Tried matters in the Supreme and County Court
  • Bail applications in the Supreme, County and Magistrates Courts
  • Pleas, contested hearings and committal hearings in the Magistrates Court

 

Alex is highly experienced in indictable crime and has considerable experience in sexual offence, serious assault/violence, fraud/deception and drug matters.  In addition to this, Alex has represented parties before disciplinary tribunals and VCAT; as well as appearing at IBAC.  He accepts briefs in criminal matters in all Courts.

Alex travels extensively to regional Courts and has built valuable connections with many regional areas.

Alex is a member of David Ross Chambers, a boutique criminal defence chambers comprised of 17 successful barristers practicing exclusively in the criminal law.
