Peta accepts briefs in all areas of criminal and family law. 

Prior to coming to the bar Peta practised as a solicitor advocate in summary and indictable crime. She now appears in a broad range of criminal matters across all jurisidictions and has extensive experience in indictable crime. Peta holds an Indictable Crime Certificate and is on the VLA Criminal Trial Preferred Barrister List. 

Peta has been briefed to advise and appear in regulatory criminal proceedings, both prosecuting and defending, statutory offences brought by various government agencies including Councils and the Victorian Building Authority. 

Peta also practises in family law, appearing in the Family Court and Federal Circuit Court in respect of parenting and property proceedings. 

In 2014 Peta and her collegue founded Women In Crime, the leading professional network of female criminal lawyers in Victoria. She is also a member of the Holmes List Committee.

Peta's senior mentor was Lesley Taylor QC (now Justice Taylor of the Supreme Court).
