Karen welcomes briefs to appear in metropolitan and regional courts in all areas of Criminal Law, Family Law, Children's Court (Family and Criminal Divisions), Intervention Orders and Victims of Crime Assistance Tribunal matters.

Karen began her legal career in 2009 as a solicitor advocate in a suburban firm where she gained experience predominantly in Family Law, Children's Court and Intervention Order matters. She was then employed by Victoria Legal Aid Family Division seconded to the Victorian Aboriginal Legal Service (VALS), before moving over to the Criminal Division at VALS. 

She practised exclusively as a Criminal Lawyer and Senior Criminal Lawyer at VALS between 2012-2016, and represented clients on a daily basis in both metropolitan courts and circuits across the State. 

Immediately prior to joining the Bar, Karen practised as the Outreach Lawyer at the generalist community legal service Youthlaw.

In 2014, Karen completed a Reprieve Internship at the Louisiana Capital Assistance Centre in New Orleans, assisting with capital cases.

In addition, between 2013-2015 she was a co-host on the 3CR Community Radio Show Done By Law.

Karen also accepts briefs to appear in the Mental Health Tribunal, VCAT and in Coronial Inquest matters.
