Profile

Chris specialises in Criminal Law and takes briefs in all forms of criminal and quasi-criminal law.

Chris previously worked for James Dowsley and Associates, and for government and quasi- government agencies including Legal Aid Queensland, as a member of their Serious Crime team, and the North Australian Aboriginal Justice Agency (NAAJA).

During his time at NAAJA, Chris appeared regularly in contested hearings and bail applications in Katherine, Darwin and remote and regional courts including Ngukurr, Lajamanu, and Maningrida and throughout North-East Arnhem Land. He also appeared in pleas and breaches in the Supreme Court of the Northern Territory.

At James Dowsley and Associates, Chris appeared as solicitor advocate on a daily basis in the County Court, Magistrate's Court and Children's Court in contested bail applications, pleas of guilty, committal matters and Children's Court indictable matters.

Chris has also retained conduct of serious indictable offences in the Supreme, County and District Courts of  Victoria, the Northern Territory and Queensland.

Chris is reading with Scott Johns and his Senior Mentor is David Hallowes SC.
