Tom Battersby is an experienced advocate based at Gorman Chambers, Melbourne. He accepts briefs in criminal and quasi-criminal matters in metropolitan and regional courts in Victoria.   

Tom is regularly briefed in committals, summary contests, bail applications, plea hearings, and matters arising under the Crimes (Mental Impairment and Unfitness to be Tried) Act. 

Before coming to the Bar, Tom worked as a solicitor in private practice with conduct of indictable matters including murder, drug importation and cultivation, as well as serious sex offences.

Tom regularly volunteers with Melbourne Activist Legal Support, and has provided pro bono assistance to the Capital Punishment Justice Project.

Tom read with Megan Tittensor SC and his senior mentor is Julian McMahon SC.

Tom does not accept Direct Access briefs.
