Thomas accepts briefs in criminal, quasi-criminal and administrative law matters.
He regularly appears in complex fraud, sexual abuse, and commercial quantity drug cases in the County Court and Magistrates' Court.
Before coming to the bar Thomas was a senior prosecutor at the Commonwealth DPP. Thomas holds a 'Negative Vetting' security clearance (NV1) from the Australian Government Security Vetting Agency.

- DPP v Maloney [2019] VCC 1285, online child exploitation case involving issues of Verdins and methamphetamine use.
- R v Snyder [2018] VCC 2112, a complex child exploitation case involving video recorded sexual abuse which the offender then traded online.
- R v Hanna [2018] VCC 576, a serious online procuring plea involving an in person meeting.
- DPP v Foley (Unreported, County Court of Victoria, Judge Wischusen, 27 July 2018), a commercial quantity drug importation contested plea with contested facts as to the role of the offender.
- DPP v Tung & Ors [2017] VCC 1435, this was a plea of 3 co-accused from a syndicate which evaded approximately $4,800,000 in duty by smuggling tobacco into Australia.
- DPP v Theophanous [2017] VCC 1635, grooming plea where evidence was called from psychological expert.
- DPP (Cth) v Long [2017] VCC 1306, a tobacco fraud plea.
- DPP v Evers [2017] VCC 1226, a multiple consignment marketable drug importation.
