Profile

Tahlia accepts briefs in all areas of commercial, family and criminal law (including intervention orders).

Before coming to the Bar, Tahlia worked as a lawyer at Galbally and O’Bryan. She appeared as an instructing solicitor in a complex and long running terrorism trial proceeding before the Supreme Court, instructing Senior and Junior Counsel.

Prior to practice, Tahlia was appointed as Associate to His Honour Judge Michael Tinney at the County Court of Victoria. There she gained practical experience in the criminal jurisdiction, including complex trials, pleas and appeals.   

Tahlia is currently a sessional lecturer at Australian Catholic University, lecturing in criminal procedure. Previously, whilst overseas, Tahlia was appointed as Professor of Law at Universidad Privada Boliviana. She lectured in International Commercial & Criminal Law.

Prior to embarking on a career in the law, Tahlia held senior marketing management roles at Hewlett-Packard (HP) where she managed a team. She also ran her own successful marketing agency, where her clients included Porsche, Telstra, ANZ and Macquarie Bank. In conjunction she was an adjunct lecturer at Macquarie University in Sydney. 

Tahlia has a passion for and commitment to social justice. She has previously volunteered at the Fitzroy Legal Service assisting with family law and criminal law proceedings. 

Tahlia is a member of the Commercial Law, Family Law and Criminal Law Victorian Bar Committee. 

Tahlia read with Christopher Carr. Her senior mentors are Richard Maidment QC and Tim North SC.
