Tahlia accepts briefs to appear and advise in all areas of family law, intervention orders and mediations.

Tahlia appears regularly in the Federal Circuit and Family Court of Australia in relation to parenting and property proceedings and at mediations. Tahlia appears in interim defended hearings and final defended hearings on behalf of individual parties and on behalf of the Independent Children's Lawyer. Tahlia also appears regularly in regional circuit sittings of the Federal Circuit and Family Court of Australia.

Tahlia accepts briefs to draft and settle Court documents and provide written advice in respect of parenting and property proceedings. Tahlia has a particular interest in change of name applications, having appeared in both the former Federal Circuit Court of Australia, former Family Court of Australia and County Court of Victoria in respect of such applications.  

Tahlia has extensive experience as an Advocate, having appeared in the Magistrates Court, County Court, Supreme Court and Coroners Court in matters relating to Family Violence and Criminal proceedings.

Before coming to the Bar, Tahlia was an Associate to His Honour Judge Michael Tinney at the County Court of Victoria. There she gained practical experience in the criminal jurisdiction, including trials, pleas and appeals.  Immediately prior to coming to the Bar, Tahlia worked at Galbally and O’Bryan where she gained experience as an instructing solicitor to Senior Counsel and Junior Counsel in a complex and long running terrorism trial before the Supreme Court.

Tahlia is a member of the Family Law Section of the Law Council of Australia, Australian Institute of Family Law Arbitrators and Mediators (AIFLAM) and the Family Law Bar Association.

Tahlia lectures in Family Law at the Australian Catholic University, having been appointed as national lecturer in charge across the NSW and Victorian campuses. 

Tahlia is a Nationally Accredited Mediator.
