Ryan Hartshorne accepts briefs in criminal, family, disciplinary and quasi-criminal matters in metropolitan and regional courts.  He previously worked as a Prosecutor for Victoria Police and more recently as a Corporate Legal Counsel.

Prior to coming to the Bar, Ryan appeared regularly in bail applications, plea hearings and contested hearings for all indictable, summary and traffic matters.  He also has experience in Intervention Order applications and is available for all Family Law matters.

As Corporate Legal Counsel, Ryan often appeared at VCAT in civil claims and debt recovery matters. He welcomes briefs in OH&S and Employment Law and is currently completing the final stages of his MBA.

Ryan accepts requests to provide representation in Sports Tribunal proceedings in both amateur and professional sport. He invites opportunities from sporting bodies to sit on tribunal and integrity proceedings and can provide expertise as an independent investigator.

Ryan spent 17 years in Victoria Police, primarily as a Search & Rescue Specialist, and was previously involved in the Health and Sport Science Industry.

Ryan is reading with David Cronin and his senior mentor is John Kelly SC.
