Profile

Peter practices predominantly in criminal and employment law. He also accepts briefs in other areas including quasi-criminal, administrative and family law matters. 

Before coming to the bar, Peter was a Senior Federal Prosecutor with the Commonwealth DPP where he regularly appeared in both summary and superior courts on pleas, committals, bail applications and summary contests. Peter’s practice involved a broad variety of matters ranging from regulatory offences and white-collar crime, to human trafficking and child sex offences.

Peter also has experience with matters involving national security, including the operation of the National Security Information (Criminal and Civil Proceedings) Act 2004 (Cth). He holds a current Negative Vetting (NV2) security clearance.

Previously, Peter was a solicitor with the South East Community Legal Service where he practiced predominantly in employment law, family law and criminal defence. He regularly advised on employment contract and termination rights, and has appeared before the Fair Work Commission and before full bench on appeal.

Peter reads with Robert T Barry. His senior mentor is Craig Dowling SC.
