Profile

Peter's primary practice is in criminal law. He also accepts briefs in public, employment and family law (property) matters.

Peter appears in all courts and tribunals, including on appeal. He is regularly briefed to provide written advice. 

Before coming to the bar, Peter was a Senior Federal Prosecutor with the Commonwealth DPP where he regularly appeared in summary and superior courts. Peter's experience extends to a broad variety of crime types ranging from regulatory offences and white-collar crime, to human trafficking and child sex offences.

Peter also has experience with the interpretation and application of several novel Commonwealth Acts, ranging from niche regulations to national security matters requiring use of the National Security Information (Criminal and Civil Proceedings) Act 2004 (Cth). He holds a current federal security clearance (NV2).

Previously, Peter was a solicitor with the South East Community Legal Service where he practiced in employment law, family law and criminal defence. He regularly advised on employment contract and termination rights, and has appeared before the Fair Work Commission and before full bench on appeal.
