HOLMES LIST BARRISTERS - QUALITY, INTEGRITY, EXPERIENCE
Holmes List commenced in October 1992 to service the influx of Readers coming to the Bar. Head Clerk, Paul Holmes, identified a niche among the established Lists for an innovative List to meet the needs of younger, emerging Barristers. Today we are known as Holmes List Barristers, and recognised as a leading criminal, administrative and family law List.
The List commenced with 30 members in its current location at 555 Lonsdale Street, Melbourne. At the time, the only List outside of William Street. Thanks to the desire and passion to develop new ideas for clerking and service delivery, Holmes List has grown to approximately 200 barristers. Its reputation is affirmed through its integrity, stewardship and longevity of professional service to the Barristers of Victoria.
An independently owned list, Holmes List Barristers maintains continuity of management which ensures that the quality of service never diminishes. The Assistant Clerks are long term appointees who pride themselves on their developed relationships with the barristers in their care.
Holmes List Barristers calendar of social events and professional opportunities as well as charitable and community support, means they are much more than merely a mail collection and job service to the barristers and solicitors they serve.
Currently, Paul Holmes employs five full time Clerks and six support staff operating Monday to Friday from 8am to 5.45pm.
Our List accepts applications from existing interstate and local barristers, and twice yearly intakes of Victorian junior barrister Readers.
